Indigenous Employment: Recruitment & Retention - VIRTUAL CLASSROOM - Mountain Time Zone - 9:30am to 4:30pm
We are excited to continue with the success we had with our virtual classrooms in Spring 2020. The content will be the same as the in-person training and will allow for interaction with the trainer, but from your office or wherever you have internet access. Price is the main difference between the in-person and the virtual classroom.
Pre-registration is required.
Certificate of Completion provided.
With the release of the Truth and Reconciliation Commissions Calls to Action in 2015, equitable employment opportunities and addressing employment gaps between Indigenous and non-Indigenous employees has become a growing consideration in Canada. In addition to social responsibility, there are many business reasons for hiring Indigenous Peoples.
In this course, learn about the business case for hiring Indigenous Peoples, and factors to consider in the recruitment and retention of Indigenous employees. Some topics that will be addressed include:
- barriers to employment
- community outreach
- cultural considerations for interviews
- challenges for retention
"The material was applicable to any job and was delivered expertly. The detailed and extensive knowledge the trainer had was presented in a way that anyone could understand."
